The hamlets of Brittany
The Breton countryside is full of small hamlets with low houses of stone to the delight of the English . This is one I know particularly well and is located in the town of St Seglins in Ille et Vilaine . This is the hamlet of La Hayais.
It seems to have retained its old frame with a "street" and its main few houses that swarm around. If I am interested as much in this village is a family decided to renovate. And each house has found its owner has worked over the years to restore its former glory. And it's true they do not fail to charm the little houses with flowers.
Over time some new owners, outside the family, came to their turn. There are still some dilapidated houses to be renovated, but the scope of work may give pause.
The hamlet is inhabited all year by a few people but there are second homes. The average age is quite high but fortunately solidarity takes precedence and the most valid assistance to those who are more difficult to move. Some traders still pass, baker, grocer and the butcher when he orders.
